The AMG GT S sits a step above the base GT, with the same M178 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 turned up to 503 hp (510 PS). It was the first C190 sold in the US, for 2016, before the wider lineup arrived.

Beyond the extra power it adds sharper adaptive suspension, an electronically controlled rear differential and more aggressive tuning, which made it the sweet spot of the early range.
