The Turbo is the fast dual-motor all-wheel-drive sedan, a launch model from 2020 and one of the two cars that opened the range. Despite the badge there is no turbocharger anywhere on it — "Turbo" is a marketing tier name Porsche carried over from its combustion cars; the Taycan is a pure EV with no engine to force-induct.
It uses the Performance Battery Plus and, from the 2025 facelift, the revised rear motor and larger pack, which pushed output, range and acceleration up substantially over the first-generation car.
US NHTSA campaigns for this model. A listed campaign may not apply to a particular car, and may already have been remedied — check a specific car by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
No. The Taycan is a pure EV with no combustion engine, so there is nothing to turbocharge. "Turbo" and "Turbo S" are Porsche's top-tier performance names carried over from its gas cars; here they denote trim level, not forced induction.
