The Cayman GTS, added for the 2015 model year, is the top standard 981 Cayman. It runs the 3.4-liter MA1 flat-six tuned to 335 hp, above the Cayman S, with PASM adaptive dampers and Sport Chrono as standard equipment and a lowered, more aggressively-trimmed body. Rear-wheel drive, 6-speed manual or 7-speed PDK.
It is not a GT-department car: it sits below the GT4 in the lineup, sharing the standard Cayman chassis rather than the GT4's 991 GT3-derived hardware. Like the rest of the range it uses the direct-injected MA1 flat-six, so it avoids the older 987's IMS bearing risk.
