The 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet (997.1) is the soft-top version of the all-wheel-drive Carrera 4S: the 3.8-liter M97 flat-six, bigger brakes and wider rear wheels, all-wheel drive and the wide AWD body, with a power fabric top and the optional X51 Powerkit available.

It uses the M96/M97 engine family, so it carries the same bore-scoring risk and non-serviceable single-row IMS bearing as the rest of the Carrera range — buy on condition and history. The Mezger engine that avoids all of this is only in the Turbo and the track cars.
