The 911 Turbo S (993) is the Exclusiv-built range-topper of the air-cooled Turbos, built in 1997–98. It takes the twin-turbo all-wheel-drive Turbo and adds larger turbochargers, an extra oil cooler and revised Motronic engine management for about 444 hp (450 PS), plus an Aerokit body, yellow brake calipers, extra air ducts and carbon interior trim.
It was the most powerful and most exclusive air-cooled 911 of the line — 345 built, 176 of them for the US. US-market cars are sometimes quoted at a slightly lower SAE figure than the European 444 hp (450 PS) DIN rating.
The Turbo S is an Exclusiv-built, higher-output range-topper: larger turbochargers, an extra oil cooler and revised engine management lift power over the standard Turbo, and it adds an Aerokit body, yellow calipers, extra cooling ducts and carbon trim. Only 345 were built, making it far rarer and more valuable than a standard or X50 Turbo.
