The 911 Carrera GTS (992.2) is the first series-production hybrid 911. Its T-Hybrid powertrain pairs a larger 3.6-liter flat-six with a single electric exhaust-gas turbocharger (eTurbo) and an electric motor built into the eight-speed PDK, fed by a 400-volt, 1.9 kWh lithium-ion pack (~60 lb / 27 kg) under the front hood. It is a performance hybrid, not a plug-in — the battery exists to sharpen response and fill in torque, and never needs charging.
Be clear-eyed about the trade: the hybrid hardware makes this GTS heavier than the old, non-hybrid GTS, so the gains come from the electric boost, not from lightening. As a first-year car it carries software recalls, and the T-Hybrid hardware has no long-term track record yet.

No. The eTurbo carries an electric motor on the shaft between the compressor and turbine wheels that spins it up instantly, so boost arrives from just off idle. Under load the same turbo runs as a generator, feeding the battery — there is no wastegate.
