The SLS AMG Roadster (R197, 2011-2015) is the open version of the SLS. It keeps the aluminum spaceframe, the 563 hp naturally aspirated 6.2 V8 and the 7-speed dual-clutch transaxle, but drops the gullwing doors for conventional ones and a powered fabric soft top that cycles in about 11 seconds and works up to roughly 30 mph.
It trades a little weight and rigidity for open-air access to the V8's noise, with extra structure to make up for the missing roof. Otherwise it drives like the coupe: a usable, muscular front-mid GT rather than a stripped track car.
