The SLS AMG GT3 (2011-2014, 86 built) is the customer race version of the SLS, developed by Mercedes-AMG with HWA. It uses the road car's 6.2 naturally aspirated V8 with dry-sump race prep, driving through a 6-speed sequential racing gearbox with a multi-plate locking differential and paddle shift. It is not road-registered.
Built to FIA GT3 regulations, it is stripped and caged to roughly the class weight floor (about 1,300 kg, not independently confirmed), some 300 kg under the ~1,620 kg road coupe. That saving buys a legal, competitive GT3 car rather than road usability. Competition output is capped by the FIA's Balance of Performance rather than a fixed factory figure.
