The AMG GT 43 is the base C192 and the only rear-wheel-drive one. Instead of the V8, it uses AMG's M139 2.0-liter turbocharged four with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, good for 416 hp, driving the rear wheels through the 9-speed AMG SpeedShift MCT automatic. It's the way into an AMG GT for a lot less money than the eight-cylinder cars.

It's lighter over the nose than the V8 models and rear-drive, so it steers a little keener, but it gives up a lot of straight-line pace and the V8's noise. Think of it as the sensible-entry GT rather than a stripped-out driver's special.
