The 600LT Spider is the convertible version of the 600LT, unveiled in January 2019 with a two-piece retractable hardtop but an otherwise identical brief: the same M838TE 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8, the same 7-speed Graziano dual-clutch transaxle, the same carbon MonoCell II tub and the same 592 bhp (600 PS) / 457 lb-ft output as the Coupé. The only meaningful differences are the folding roof and the weight it adds (~110 lb / ~50 kg) for a dry figure of 2,859 lb (~1,297 kg).
That small penalty barely dents the numbers: 0–60 mph still comes in about 2.8 seconds, with a 201 mph top speed roof-up (196 mph with the roof stowed) versus the Coupé's 204 mph. It keeps every Longtail signature — the 74 mm-longer aero bodywork, the top-exit exhaust, the P1-derived Racing Seats and the 720S hardware — while adding open-air drama. Like the Coupé it was time-limited rather than numerically capped, and McLaren never published a build count, so its rarity rests on enthusiast VIN estimates rather than an official figure. Launch U.S. MSRP was about $256,500.

There is no official figure. McLaren never published a build count and the 600LT was time-limited rather than numerically capped (unlike the 675LT's firm 500-Coupé / 500-Spider caps). Enthusiast VIN research puts the combined Coupé + Spider total somewhere around 1,500–2,100, with roughly 720 in the United States, but these are only estimates. The Coupé's order slots were reported sold out by May 2019, about a year after launch.
The "600" is the metric PS figure — the engine makes 600 PS, which converts to 441 kW or 592 bhp, not 600 hp. It is a common point of confusion. Power rose 30 hp (30 PS) over the 570S, largely via the freer-flowing top-exit exhaust and an ECU tune.
LT is the badge McLaren reserves for its most extreme, aerodynamically stretched cars. The 600LT Coupé is only the fourth model to wear it, following the F1 GTR "Longtail" (1997) and the 675LT Coupé/Spider (2015). The name refers to the lengthened bodywork: the 600LT is 74 mm longer than the 570S. It also has more aggressive aero, less weight and a signature top-exit exhaust.
