The Gallardo Superleggera (2007-2008) is the first lightweight Gallardo. Superleggera means super-light, and the car earns it: about 220 lb (~100 kg) is stripped out of the base Coupe through carbon-fiber panels (rear diffuser, undertray, mirror housings, inner door panels, center tunnel, engine cover), carbon-fiber seats, and titanium wheel nuts. Power rises slightly to 523 hp (530 PS). The savings buy sharper responses and a more focused, stiffer feel rather than a big top-speed gain.

It's the hard-edged version of the 5.0-liter car, noisier and more stripped inside, and it was capped at 618 cars worldwide.
