The Gallardo LP560-4 Coupe (2008-2013) is the 2008 facelift, and it's a bigger change than the styling tweaks let on. Under the deck is an all-new 5.2-liter V10, odd-firing and direct-injected, replacing the original even-firing 5.0. It makes 552 hp (560 PS) (the LP560-4 name reads as longitudinal engine, 560 PS, four-wheel drive), and Lamborghini claimed roughly 18% less fuel and CO2 despite the extra power. The body is lighter and the bumpers restyled.
The E-Gear was revised too, with a Corsa mode that shifts noticeably quicker. It's the stronger, faster, more efficient Gallardo, and the one most later variants are built from.

The cars up to the 2008 facelift use the original 5.0-liter even-firing V10. The LP560-4 and everything after use a newer 5.2-liter, odd-firing and with direct injection. It's a genuinely different engine, not a bored-out version of the old one, and it's stronger while using less fuel. In short: pre-facelift is 5.0, LP560-4 onward is 5.2.
