The Ferrari SF90 Spider is the open-top version of the SF90 Stradale, revealed on November 12, 2020 as Ferrari's most powerful series-production convertible so far. It uses a two-piece retractable hard top that folds away in about 14 seconds and can operate on the move at low speed. Mechanically it is the coupe: the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo F154 FA V8 and three electric motors for a combined 986 hp (1,000 PS) and 590 lb-ft, the same 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox, the same front-motor all-wheel drive, and the same claimed 2.5 seconds to 100 km/h.
The only meaningful trade against the coupe is roughly 70–100 kg of extra mass for the folding roof and its reinforcement, which nudges weight up but leaves the performance essentially intact. As with the coupe, a 7.9 kWh battery allows silent front-drive running, four powertrain modes are selected through the eManettino dial, and the track-focused Assetto Fiorano package is available. It carried a modest premium over the Stradale at launch.

A 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 drives the rear wheels through an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and three electric motors add drive: one (the MGUK) sits between the engine and gearbox, and two more, one per wheel, sit on the front axle. Those front motors make the SF90 all-wheel drive and also vector torque left-to-right; above about 135 km/h (84 mph), or once the battery is depleted, drive reverts to the rear. A 7.9 kWh lithium-ion pack gives roughly 25 km (16 mi) of electric-only range and can move the car on the front axle alone in eDrive mode. Mode selection is by a second steering-wheel dial, the eManettino (eDrive, Hybrid, Performance, Qualify).
