The Ferrari California T (project F149M, 2014-2017) is the mid-life turbo evolution of the California. The headline change is under the hood: out goes the 4.3-liter naturally aspirated V8, in comes the 3.9-liter twin-turbo F154 BB, Ferrari's first turbocharged V8 in a road car since the F40. It keeps the front-engine 2+2 layout, the folding metal hardtop, and the 7-speed dual-clutch, but adds a lot more torque and reshapes it with a Variable Boost Management system that meters torque by gear to keep the delivery progressive rather than switch-like.
Beyond the engine, the T got a restyle (an F12-influenced nose, a cleaner tail with four horizontally aligned tailpipes), a new interior, and became the first Ferrari offered with Apple CarPlay. MagneRide adaptive dampers are standard, and a 2016 Handling Speciale pack sharpened springs, dampers, shift speed, and exhaust for buyers wanting a firmer edge. It's quicker and more flexible than the original California, at the cost of some of the naturally aspirated car's top-end character. Built in Maranello; succeeded by the Portofino in 2018.

It's an options pack (2016-2017), not a separate model. It fits stiffer springs (16% firmer front, 19% rear), retuned MagneRide dampers, quicker Sport-mode shifts, reprogrammed traction control, and a new sport exhaust, plus subtle styling cues like a matte grille and diffuser and black exhaust tips. It widens the gap between comfort and sport settings.
