The Ferrari 599 SA Aperta (2010-2011) is the open-top, limited-edition flagship of the 599 line, built to just 80 cars. 'SA' honors Sergio and Andrea Pininfarina, and the run coincided with Pininfarina's 80th anniversary. It pairs essentially the 599 GTO's uprated 6.0-liter V12 (661 hp / 670 PS) with a full roadster body, giving buyers the rare combination of a front-engine V12 and open-air driving.
Rather than a heavy folding hardtop, the SA Aperta uses only a light emergency soft top meant for occasional bad weather, keeping it closer to a true speedster in spirit. Ferrari capped top speed at around 202 mph for the open body. It was unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, and every car was spoken for; it remains one of the rarest modern front-engine Ferraris.
