The Ferrari 599 GTO (2010-2011) is the hardcore, lightweight, road-going sibling of the track-only 599XX, and the third car to wear Ferrari's 'GTO' badge after the 250 GTO and 288 GTO. It takes the 599's 6.0-liter V12 to 661 hp (670 PS) at 8,250 rpm, sheds around 100 kg over a standard GTB, and adds carbon-ceramic brakes, revised aerodynamics, lighter body panels and the faster-shifting F1 SuperFast2 gearbox. Production was capped at 599 cars.

At launch Ferrari said the GTO was the fastest road car it had lapped its Fiorano test track with, at 1 minute 24 seconds, quicker there than the Enzo. It's a focused, aggressive machine rather than a comfortable GT: sharper responses, more downforce, a firmer edge and a soundtrack that revs hard toward its high redline. It sits alongside the SA Aperta as the peak of the 599 line.
