The Grand Sport Vitesse combines the two extremes of the range: the Super Sport's 1,183 hp (1,200 PS) drivetrain in the open Grand Sport body. It arrived in 2012 with the uprated quad-turbo W16, a reinforced open monocoque, and the roadster's removable roof. Unlike the Super Sport's recessed NACA ducts, it keeps the overhead scoop intakes to feed the engine with the roof removed.
In April 2013 a Vitesse averaged 408.84 km/h (254.04 mph) at Ehra-Lessien, a record it still holds as the fastest open-top production car. At 92 built it is the most numerous of the four Veyrons, and the fastest of the two roadsters.
