The M4 CS (2025) is the lightened, all-wheel-drive middle child between the Competition and the hardcore CSL. It runs the high 543 hp (550 PS) tune of the S58 and keeps M xDrive, so it's the quickest-launching M4 short of nothing in the range, while staying more usable than the rear-drive CSL.
Because it's an xDrive car, the fair comparison is the M4 Competition xDrive, and the CS comes in about 44 lb (20 kg) lighter than that car. The savings come from carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic parts (hood, roof, trunk lid, splitter and trim) plus standard carbon bucket seats. It keeps its rear seats, so it's a track-focused car you can still live with.
The CS is the AWD, more usable one. It keeps M xDrive and its rear seats, where the CSL is rear-drive, strips the rear seats out entirely and goes further on weight. Same 543 hp, but the CS is easier to launch and to live with, while the CSL is the harder-edged, limited-run track special.
