The E46 M3 Coupe (2000-2006) is the third-generation M3, built on the E46 3 Series at BMW's Regensburg plant. Power comes from the S54, a naturally aspirated 3.2-liter inline-six with six individual throttle bodies, double-VANOS variable valve timing and an 8,000 rpm redline, driving the rear wheels. US cars were rated 333 hp; European cars carried a slightly higher 343 PS (about 338 hp) rating of the same engine.
