The facelifted second-generation Audi TT (type 8J, 2011-2014) is a detail refresh of the 2006 car rather than a new one: the same Audi Space Frame body (a mix of aluminum and steel) on the VW Group PQ35 platform, built at Audi Hungaria in Győr, Hungary. The changes are revised bumpers and lights with LED daytime running lamps, interior updates, and a base 2.0 TFSI four-cylinder raised to 211 hp (211 PS).
In the US the base TT was sold as a 2.0T quattro with the 6-speed S tronic dual-clutch. It's the everyday TT: quick and tidy rather than fast, and it leans on its compact aluminum-intensive body and turbo four for its character.
It's a styling and detail refresh on the same 8J car: revised bumpers and lights with LED daytime running lamps, interior updates, and a base 2.0 TFSI raised to 211 hp. The Audi Space Frame structure, PQ35 platform and dimensions carry over.
