The Audi S5 Coupe (2013-2017) is the performance version of the facelifted second-generation A5, still built on Audi's B8 platform but updated with a new face and, more importantly, a new engine. The naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8 that powered the prior-generation S5 Coupe is gone; power now comes from a supercharged 3.0-liter TFSI V6, sending drive through a 6-speed manual (standard) or 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic to quattro all-wheel drive.

This is the first time the US S5 Coupe and S5 Cabriolet have shared the same engine — the prior generation split the two body styles between a V8 (Coupe) and a supercharged V6 (Cabriolet). This generation also introduced a new flagship above the S5 for the first time in the US: the RS5, powered by a distinct, higher-output V8 of its own.
