The related AM11-coded V12 used in the same-era DB9/V8 Vantage/Rapide has documented timing-chain-tensioner wear, VVT solenoid clogging, and carbon buildup, and the ZF 8-speed automatic's wider 8HP family has reports of harsh shifts and occasional rattle in other applications -- neither has been independently confirmed on this Vanquish's own AM28/AM29 engine or Touchtronic III unit, but both are reasonable pre-purchase inspection points given the shared underlying hardware.

  The interior door-unlocking mechanism could fail to unlock the vehicle when it had been locked from the outside, a FMVSS 206 violation. Dealers disabled the double-locking feature by reprogramming software, free of charge, starting August 2016.

  A communication fault between the engine and transmission control modules could prevent the transmission's park pawl from engaging, risking rollaway on a slope. Remedy was a free transmission control module software update.
