Standard X51-type PowerKit (revised intake/exhaust) over the Carrera S 3.8.
The 911 Sport Classic (997.2) is a manual-only limited edition and the first car to get the 408-hp X51-type PowerKit. Built on the wide body but rear-drive, it wears a fixed ducktail rear spoiler evoking the 2.7 RS, a double-bubble roof, Fuchs-style wheels, unique Sport Classic Grey paint, standard ceramic brakes and lowered PASM. Just 250 were built, reportedly sold out within about 48 hours.
It uses the DFI 9A1 flat-six, so there is no IMS bearing — buy on the usual DFI age items, coolant pipes and the fuel system, and budget for the standard ceramic brakes.
