The 911 Turbo S Cabriolet (996.2) is the open-top version of the 2005 Turbo S send-off, and was the more numerous of the two Turbo S body styles. It carries the X50 power kit, PCCB ceramic brakes and six-disc changer as standard, the wide body and all-wheel drive, a six-speed manual or five-speed Tiptronic S, and a power fabric top.
As a Mezger car it does NOT carry the Carrera M96's IMS-bearing or bore-scoring risk — oil-fed plain intermediate-shaft bearings and a dry-sump bottom end. Inspect the turbos, coolant pipes and clutch, and budget for the very costly PCCB ceramics, but the M96's engine lottery is off the table.
