The 718 Cayman GT4 is the street, track-focused 982 from Porsche's GT department, revealed in 2019 with sales from spring 2020. It brought back a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six after the four-cylinder era, adds fixed-wing aero, a front splitter and diffuser, GT-department suspension and larger brakes, and drives the rear wheels. It launched manual-only with a 6-speed; a 7-speed PDK became optional from 2022.
It shares the 4.0 flat-six architecture with the GTS 4.0 in a higher state of tune, revving to a higher redline, and (like the GTS 4.0) uses cylinder deactivation. The story is chassis, aero and the naturally aspirated six rather than a stripped-out weight diet.
