The AMG GT 53 sits a step above the 43 and shares its hardware: the same turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 48-volt EQ Boost, the same 9-speed torque-converter automatic and 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive. The difference is a higher state of tune and, usually, more standard equipment.
It's the inline-six four-door for buyers who want more than the 43 without stepping up to the thirstier V8. US cars arrived for 2020.
Same 3.0-liter turbo inline-six and EQ Boost hardware, tuned for more power and usually better equipped. Neither has the V8; if you want eight cylinders you need the GT 63 or 63 S.
