The AMG GT 55 is the entry V8 C192 and the direct successor to the C190 AMG GT. It uses AMG's hand-built 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 in a softer 469 hp tune, with standard 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive and the 9-speed MCT automatic. It's the cheapest way into the eight-cylinder GT.
Compared with the GT 63 it gives up power and outright pace but keeps the same body, cabin, hardware options and all-wheel-drive traction. For buyers who want the V8 character without the flagship price, it's the value pick of the range.
Same hand-built 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and the same 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive. The 55 runs a lower-output, less expensive tune; the 63 is the stronger, quicker, pricier version. Body, cabin and most options are common to both.
