The AMG GT Black Series (2020-2021, 1,700 built) is the halo of the C190 line and the first AMG GT with the flat-plane-crank M178 LS2 V8. The flat-plane crank changes the firing order and lets the engine rev harder, and with higher boost it makes 720 hp (730 PS).

Aggressive active aero, a manually adjustable rear wing and front splitter, generates high downforce, and in late 2020 it set the fastest Nürburgring Nordschleife lap then recorded by a road-legal production car. It weighs about the same as a GT R, so the story here is power and aerodynamics, not lightness.
