The Murcielago SV (2009-2010) is the LP670-4 SuperVeloce, the hardcore send-off before the Aventador took over. Lamborghini pushed the 6.5-liter V12 further and, more importantly, cut weight: carbon-fiber body panels, a stripped carbon-fiber interior, and deleted infotainment. That makes the SV about 220 lb (~100 kg) lighter than the LP640 coupe, and the weight loss, as much as the extra power, is what sharpens acceleration and raises top speed.
E-Gear was standard, with the manual a no-cost option. Production ended early to free the line for the Aventador, so relatively few SVs were built. The SV revives the SuperVeloce badge last seen on the Diablo SV.
Lamborghini planned a run of 350, but switched the line to the Aventador before finishing them, so the true build count came in well short of that target. It gets muddier because the Lamborghini Registry tallies more surviving cars than the commonly cited factory build figure. The production range in the specs reflects that uncertainty.
It's the optional tall rear wing. It adds downforce for track use but costs a little top speed versus the standard ducktail spoiler, which is the faster setup in a straight line. Which one a car has affects its look and how buyers value it.
