The Centenario LP 770-4 (2016-2017) is a limited few-off built on the Aventador SV's carbon-fiber monocoque to mark the 100th birthday of founder Ferruccio Lamborghini, born in 1916. Lamborghini made 20 coupes, all pre-sold before the public saw the car, and unveiled it at the March 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The name reads as LP (longitudinal rear engine) plus power in metric PS plus "4" for all-wheel drive. Its naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 was the most powerful V12 Lamborghini had put in a road car at launch, above the Aventador SV.
Mechanically it's an SV underneath with a bespoke carbon body and more power, but it broke new ground too. It was the first Lamborghini with rear-wheel steering. An electronically actuated twin-deck rear wing manages downforce and drag. Like the rest of the Aventador family it runs the single-clutch ISR gearbox and sits very low.

Rear-wheel steering. The Centenario was the first Lamborghini to use it, turning the rear wheels opposite the fronts at low speed to tighten the turning circle and in phase at high speed for stability. Lamborghini then put the system into regular production on the Aventador S later in 2016.
