1. 1Confirm the brake-fluid recall is closed (NHTSA 22V-536, Ferrari RC 80). The brake-fluid reservoir cap may fail to vent, creating a vacuum and a possible fluid leak that can reduce or lose braking. It covers 2020-2022 F8 Spider among many other Ferraris; the fix replaces the cap and updates software for a low-fluid warning.
2. 2For a 2023 Spider, confirm the driveshaft recall is closed (NHTSA 24V-810). Driveshaft screws may not have been tightened in production and could loosen, risking loss of traction; owners were told not to drive until inspected. The campaign also covered the 2023 Portofino M and 2024 Roma Spider.
3. 3Operate the hardtop fully, open and closed, and listen for wind and water leaks around the seals. Check the mechanism cycles cleanly and that the top stows and raises without hesitation.
4. 4Check the interior for sticky soft-touch trim. The rubberized coating Ferrari used on buttons, switch surrounds and plastic trim through the 458/488/F8 era degrades with heat and age, going tacky and gummy before it peels. It is cosmetic, but refinishing the coating or replacing panels and switches is labor-intensive, and hot-climate cars show it first.
5. 5Inspect the aluminum body panels, the hood in particular, for paint bubbling over corrosion. It is traced to factory surface prep before painting (an issue on Ferrari aluminum bodies going back to the 360 and 430) and appears along the hood's leading edge and shut lines rather than from stone chips, so it is a production defect. Panel refinish or replacement is the fix; confirm any prior warranty repair.
