The 458 Speciale A (Aperta) is the open-top version of the 458 Speciale, and the rarest 458 road car: production was capped at 499 units. It keeps the Speciale's 597 hp F136 FL V8, Side Slip Control and active aero, and adds the folding aluminum hardtop from the Spider, which limits the weight gain over the Speciale coupe to only about 50 kg.
At the time Ferrari called it the most powerful open-top V8 the company had built. It debuted at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. As the open, limited-run Speciale, it combines the coupe's hardcore mechanicals with open-air drama, and its scarcity is a defining part of the car.
