The 458 Challenge is the race-only version built for Ferrari's one-make Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli series. It keeps the road car's 562 hp F136 FB V8 in production tune, but Ferrari revised the dual-clutch gearbox's ratios and calibration for the track and stripped the car to a bare race interior with a roll cage, a single racing seat, polycarbonate windows and center-lock wheels on slick tires.

It is not road legal. From 2014 an Evoluzione (Evo) package brought a revised aero kit, new bumpers, splitter, diffuser and rear spoiler drawn from Ferrari's 458 GT3 program, offered on new and existing cars. Because it's a factory race car, it's bought and run as a track machine, not a street car.
