The 2006 SRT-10 Coupe is the ZB I's second act: a fixed-roof hardtop introduced at the 2005 Detroit auto show and offered for a single model year. Its roofline and rear treatment — credited to Ralph Gilles — lift directly from the Viper Competition Coupe concept, reviving the SR II's "double-bubble" roof and GTS-style taillights, and the launch First Edition cars wore the classic GTS blue with white stripes. Underneath it is the uprated 2006 car: 510 hp and 535 lb-ft, good for roughly 192 mph, the fastest ZB I.
Because Dodge built no Vipers for 2007, the coupe existed for 2006 only, and just 1,117 were made against thousands of roadsters over the generation — which makes it the rarer, more collectible ZB I body style. No — this is a common myth. Published curb weights put the coupe at roughly 3,410–3,430 lb, equal to or slightly heavier than the roadster. The ~85 lb weight saving people remember belongs to the one-off carbon-bodied ASC McLaren Diamondback, not the production coupe.
