The RS e-tron GT is the performance flagship of Audi's electric grand tourer, sharing the 800-volt J1 platform with the Porsche Taycan but with its own motor tuning, chassis calibration, and larger brakes than the standard e-tron GT quattro. Like the quattro, it was built at Audi's Böllinger Höfe plant in Neckarsulm starting December 2020.
This covers the first-generation car, sold in the US for model years 2021 through 2024, before Audi renamed and revised the range as the RS e-tron GT (Gen1.5) for 2025. It uses the same dual-motor layout as the quattro — a single-speed front motor and two-speed rear transmission — tuned for more power and a sportier chassis.
