The TT Roadster (type 8S, US MY2016-2018) is the soft-top version of the third-gen TT, with a power-operated fabric roof over the same 2.0-liter EA888 turbo four, 6-speed S tronic dual-clutch and quattro all-wheel drive as the base coupe. It keeps the Virtual Cockpit digital dash and the two-seat cabin.
It trades a little rigidity and some trunk space for open-air use, and it's a bit heavier than the coupe for the folding top and added structure. Like every US 8S TT it's automatic-only; the character is relaxed cruiser more than hard sports car.

A power-operated fabric soft top rather than a folding hardtop, which keeps weight and packaging in check. It operates at low speed, so you can raise or lower it without fully stopping in traffic.
