The TTS is the sporting middle step of the range: the same 2.0 TFSI four-cylinder as the base car but heavily reworked to 265 hp (272 PS), with standard quattro, a body lowered 10 mm and Audi Magnetic Ride adaptive dampers as standard. In the US it was sold primarily with the 6-speed S tronic dual-clutch.
It sits between the base TT's easygoing pace and the TT RS's five-cylinder muscle: genuinely quick and grippy, but still a compact, usable coupe rather than a hardcore special.
It's a magnetorheological adaptive damper system, standard on the TTS, that varies damping firmness electronically. It lets the car stay controlled when pushed but relax on rougher roads. It's worth checking on a used car, since the dampers are expensive to replace if one leaks or fails.
