The Audi RS5 Sportback is the five-door version of the range-topping RS5, arriving in the US a model year behind the Coupe: unveiled at the 2018 New York Auto Show, it reached American dealers as a 2019 model. It shares the Coupe's twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter TFSI V6, 8-speed Tiptronic automatic, and quattro all-wheel drive with a standard, torque-vectoring sport rear differential.
The RS5 Sportback exists specifically because Audi dropped the RS5 Cabriolet body style for this generation — where the prior B8.5-generation RS5 paired its Coupe with a convertible, this generation pairs it with a practical hatchback instead.
It's genuinely rare — only 100 were built for the US (75 Sportback, 25 Coupe) as a 2020 model, announced at the November 2019 LA Auto Show — but mechanically it's the same engine and running gear as any other 2020 RS5, so it comes down to whether the cosmetic package appeals rather than any performance difference.
